Copywriter/Proofreader
Started at MLT:
June 2008
Years of relevant work experience:
Zero. How I'm so good at it is a mystery even to me.
Honestly though, I've spent the last four years in journalism, first as a feature writer with the Auburn Plainsman, then with the Gwinnett Daily Post in suburban Atlanta. Those experiences not only helped me hone my writing abilities, but also gave me a unique perspective on public relations.
Graduated from:
Auburn '06
What is your favorite brand (or ad) and why?
Hands down, mine is that E*Trade ad from the 2000 Super Bowl in which two random guys and a clapping chimp fill the screen for 30 seconds, followed by the words, "Well, we just wasted 2 million dollars. What are you doing with your money?" Completely hilarious and unexpected amidst the typical barrage of big-budget Super Bowl spots, it was an effective parody of ad-dollar excess as well as an unforgettable introduction to the company.
What is your creative process?
Instead of getting actual ideas, I just hold a light bulb over my head and occasionally flip it on while shouting things like "Eureka!" or "That's it!" I think everyone's pretty fooled so far.
What's your favorite thing about MLT? Why?
The food we get on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is equally free and delicious.
I am...
Quick-witted (or at least half-witted), eloquent, creative, handsome (Mom says), almost god-like.
Tell us the funniest thing you've heard lately:
Anyone calling Paris Hilton an "actress." Or a "singer." Or "attractive."
