B2B Marketing and LinkedIn: Quick Q&A
LinkedIn recently released their The Sophisticated Marketer’s Guide to LinkedIn, and it is full of stats and info related to how effective LinkedIn can be for marketing. In fact, it even features our very own Viveka von Rosen, whom we are collaborating with on our B2B LinkedIn Launchpad Training Series. Alright, so maybe I’m a little biased…but that being said, I wanted to share some of the key points I learned thus far:
Q: Why Should I Be on LinkedIn?
A: It’s where your target audience is: 1 out of every 3 professionals on the planet is on LinkedIn.
A: Content now garners 6x more engagement than jobs properties on LinkedIn. So if you think LinkedIn is just for job searching you’re wrong!
A: Members are on Linked at all hours and days throughout the week. Desktop usage spikes during the day, tablet usage spikes in the morning and evening, and mobile devices are used at all hours. So anytime you can engage with this powerful network you should – your target audience is!
Q: What about Target Marketing?
A: Accurate targeting is the foundation of LinkedIn. It is highly accurate because it’s used from the data supplied and updated by its members. You can also look at Groups to see what your target audience is talking about (e.g. pain points, industry trends, etc.), and use that in your messaging and content.
Q: What about B2B Marketing?
A: LinkedIn is the only platform that the majority of B2B marketers consider to be effective.*
