I enjoy business-to-business marketing, and I’ve discovered many others with the same mindset through social media. When I began blogging and engaging on Twitter and LinkedIn, the first thing I realized is how much I have to learn regardless of my decades of experience. Through social media, I have also connected with thousands of other marketing, PR and creative professionals who share ideas and insights at a pace I could never achieve on my own.
Whatever industry you’re in, when you’re marketing your business to other businesses, social media can be one of your most valuable resources and the best way ever to grow your network, and your mind.
Social media is a very important part of an inbound marketing program and it can certainly help drive conversions and leads. But it’s also about listening, learning and helpful thought leadership. The term social media shouldn’t be limited to sites like Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, YouTube and foursquare. Business association events, industry trade shows, conferences and seminars should also be considered social media.
To some degree, you could argue any personal business engagement is an opportunity to be social. And isn’t it more interesting the more you actually know, and like, the people you work with, whether you’re buying and/or selling to them or not?
We are enjoying the benefits of social media here at MLT Creative, and we’re hosting two upcoming events that are great examples:
BMA Atlanta meeting with Jay Baer at the Ravinia
